Organizational Behaviour is the study and application of knowledge about how people, individuals, and groups act in organizations. Organisational behaviour deal with describing human behaviour in various workplace situations and explains the causes of different types of behaviours. As a multidisciplinary field, organizational behaviour has been influenced by developments in a number of allied disciplines including sociology, psychology, economics, and engineering as well as by the experience of practitioners.
There is two fundamental concept of organizational behaviours, such as the nature of people and the nature of an organization. Organizational behaviour starts with a set of fundamental concepts revolving around the nature of people and organization. These concepts are the enduring principles that form a strong foundation of organizational behaviour. The symbiotic relationship between organizations and people is necessary for the proper functioning of an organization.
Organizations must treat employees in an ethical fashion. Companies have established a code of ethics, publicized statements of ethical values, provide ethics training, reward employees for notable ethical behaviour, publicized positive role models, and set up internal procedures to handle misconduct. When the organization’s goals and actions are ethical, it is more likely that individual, organizational, and social objectives will be met.
